Quality of Life
Job satisfaction has an important influence on one’s quality of life and sense of wellbeing. Our staff devote their time, energy and expertise to the company and our clients and, in return, we do our best to ensure that they are fulfilled by the experience and enjoy the time spent with us.
Working atmosphere
Our offices have a pleasant, informal working atmosphere, where people respect each other’s contributions and are happy to help.
Training and Opportunities
We operate a graduate training scheme which is approved by the Institution of Civil Engineers, and we also have graduate engineers under training in preparation for membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers. Training and CPD are actively guided for all technical staff.
HaRaSS.org.uk
The staff have developed and run an organisation they call HaRaSS, the Hannah Reed Sports and Social. This lively outfit is driven by the interests of the staff themselves and has its own website, social functions and a number of ‘award winning’ sports teams. Follow the link above to learn more!
IT
We have a lively interest in the use of information technology within the organisation, and the IT facilities are continually being upgraded. All staff are connected via a wide area network and everyone has an email address and broadband internet access.
Salaries & Pensions
Salaries are obviously a key ingredient and we always try to offer an employment package which is attractive. Overtime is paid for staff below the rank of senior engineer, and there is a non-contributory, group personal pension scheme, coupled with life assurance.
Other Benefits
We are continually reviewing the package of benefits we offer to staff. In addition to the elements mentioned above, we offer a private healthcare discount scheme; paid professional subscriptions; childcare voucher scheme; cycle to work scheme; funded sports and social events (follow the HaRaSS link, above) and a scheme for buying or selling leave days.
