| Hannah-Reed are secretariat to the Forest of Marston Vale Surface Waters Group, and through this forum have prepared the ‘Surface Waters Plan’. |
| The plan promotes the strategic management of surface waters and the local environment in the Forest of Marston Vale. |
| It identifies the key challenges and opportunities facing the planning authorities, land drainage authorities, landowners, developers and other stakeholders in the local water environment. |

| The plan promotes policies that will encourage an integrated and sustainable approach, and featured in DEFRA's ‘Integrated Urban Drainage Pilot Studies’, thus reinforcing the sustainable principles identified in the document. |
| The plan is currently being updated to suit both changes in the local planning framework and emerging legislation and guidance.
